Doggie Daycations

Doggy Daycations give members of the public a chance to take an adoptable dog out of the shelter for a day. During your outing, you’re encouraged to take photos and videos and complete a short report card afterward. These updates help showcase each dog’s personality and can make a big difference in helping them find a home.

A variety of dogs may be available, and options will be provided when you arrive at the shelter the morning of your daycation. Not all dogs are eligible, and many of the dogs most in need of outings are medium- to large-sized. While the shelter aims to offer a range of sizes and energy levels, specific requests – such as for small or low-energy dogs – may not always be available. Participants should be comfortable handling dogs that weigh 40 pounds or more.

All necessary supplies, including a harness and leash, will be provided for your daycation.

For questions or more information, please contact the shelter.

Where Can I Take My Daycation Dog?

On warmer days, consider visiting pet-friendly stores like Lowe’s, Harbor Freight, or Tractor Supply for a comfortable indoor outing. You’re also welcome to stop by a local coffee shop for a pup cup, but please limit treats to those made specifically for dogs.

When spending time outdoors, try to keep your dog on grass rather than hot pavement to protect their paws. For safety reasons, dog parks and interactions with other animals are not allowed during daycations.
